In autumn 2018, the Slovo 21, z.s. organisation launched a project called New Home in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to spread awareness of new international protection holders about values and practical aspects of life in the Czech Republic, in order to enable them to understand the Czech environment and their rights and obligations. The project will run until 2021 and it is implemented in cooperation with the Department for Asylum, Migration, and Integration Policy of the Ministry of the Interior (OAMP) and the Refugee Facilities Administration (SUZ).
Under the project, there are integration seminars for holders of international protection which take place all across the Czech Republic and are held in at least 8 languages (Czech, English, Arabic, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Turkish, and 2 other languages upon the current demand). The eight-hour seminars take place during one day and they are free of charge for international protection holders. At each seminar, there is a guest to make the one-day session more interesting. It is a foreigner who has been living in the CR for some time and who has undergone a similar experience as the seminar participants. The seminar also includes a screening of a short film about the Czech Republic which is an enjoyable form of introduction the participants to Czech culture, customs, and traditions.
For whom are the seminars intended? For anyone over 15 years of age who has been granted international protection (asylum or subsidiary protection) after 1st January 2017.
How to register for the seminar? If you are interested in the seminar, you can register through the website of the project. Here you can find more information about the project and an application form.
