The capital city of the Czech Republic is proud to be home to one of the largest and most significant conservation areas in the world. There are about 1,300 unique sights across an area of 860 hectares.<\/p>\n

From a historical point of view, the most valuable parts of Prague can be found in today\u2019s Prague 1, which is where the medieval city core was situated. Since 1992, the historical core of the city is listed in the UNESCO<\/a> World Heritage List. Here you can find almost all major tourist places of interest \u2013 Prague Castle and the Castle District Hrad\u010dany, the Lesser Town together with the Charles Bridge, the Old Town and Josefov (a unique preserved part of the former Jewish Town), the New Town and Vy\u0161ehrad.<\/p>\n

Prague is often called the \u2018City of a Hundred Spires\u2019. The reason is that if you look at Prague from above (e.g. from the Pet\u0159\u00edn Lookout Tower), you will see that the centre is full of spires and domes of churches and other historical buildings.<\/p>\n
