Every year, the theatre season starts in September and finishes up at the end of June. During July and August there is a period called \u2018theatre holidays\u2019, during which there are no performances but when the theatres are getting ready for the following season and new plays are rehearsed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, during summer there are various drama festivals in Prague. One of the most significant ones is the <strong>Summer Shakespeare Festival<\/strong>, which is held every year in the outdoor areas of Prague Castle. Lovers of contemporary circus and theatre will enjoy the <strong>Letn\u00ed Letn\u00e1<\/strong> festival, which takes place at the end of August\/beginning of September.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>National Theatre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Theatre is of course the most famous Czech theatre, not only because of its beautiful building, which dominates the right bank of the Vltava River, but also for its history and a long list of outstanding Czech artists who have been seen here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the late 19<sup>th<\/sup> century the construction of the theatre was largely financed by Czech citizens through a nationwide collection. Since then, the National Theatre has been a symbol of Czech identity and patriotism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, the National Theatre consists of four artistic ensembles: Opera, Drama, Ballet and Laterna magika.
