Attention: Further Tightening of Measures Due to Coronavirus!

‼️Effective from 6 a.m. 14 March 2020 until 6 a.m. 24 March 2020, the Czech government has ordered the closure of all shops with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, drugstores, petrol stations, and a few more exceptions. I tis still possible to order food delivery and to use takeaway service at restaurants. The aim of the measures is to prevent people from gathering in large groups and thus to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus infection.

The Czech government has again tightened measures to prevent spreading the coronavirus infection.

PROHIBITION OF BORDER-CROSSING!

  • From the midnight on Monday 16th March 2020, everyone who does not work in the border area will be banned from crossing the borders of the Czech Republic. The limit is set to 100 km behind the border. People who work in the border area will have to produce a document proving this fact. The exception will also apply to truck drivers, pilots, train crews, sailors, and rescue service members. Other Czech citizens, foreigners with a temporary residence permit over 90 days, and permanent residence holders will not be able to leave the country. People from any other country will not be able to arrive.
  • From Saturday 14th March, bus, train, and boat transport of people from the Czech Republic to all neighbouring countries will be forbidden. From Saturday, there will be border checks on the German and Austrian border. It will be possible to cross the border to Germany only in 7 places and to Austria in 4 places.

 

PROHIBITION OF EVENTS  OF OVER 30 PEOPLE AND RESTRICTION OF FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT WITHIN THE CR

  • Effective Friday 13th March, all events that might be attended by more than 30 people are banned. This concerns sports events, religious events, theatre, music, film, and other performances. The public is banned from gyms, solariums, saunas, music and social clubs, libraries, and galleries.

MANDATORY QUARANTINE AFTER ARRIVAL FROM ABROAD

  • The mandatory quarantine is now extended to 15 countries. Apart from China, South Korea, Iran, and Italy, it is also Spain, Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Great Britain, and Switzerland. Stay at home, isolate yourself from other people in your household, and contact your doctor on the phone if necessary.

SCHOOLS REMAIN CLOSED

  • All schools and education facilities with the exception of kindergartens have been closed from Wednesday 11th March until further notice. Pupils and students are assigned tasks online. From Friday, the measure applies to elementary art schools (ZUŠ), too. Kindergartens remain open, unless they are closed by their operator. The closure has not been directed by the government.

 

LIMITED OPERATION OF RESTAURANTS AND BARS

  • Restaurants and bars may only be open during the day. They must be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
