Full of full of theatres, drama companies, music clubs, art galleries and multiplex cinemas, Prague is the cultural capital of the Czech Republic. However, there are also many other options for spending your leisure time. If you have a passion for culture, you will definitely not get bored in Prague, as there is a wide range of cultural programmes throughout the year. The branches of the Prague Municipal Library are also well worth a visit, as they offer a whole range of activities and services that we would also like to highlight here.

In this chapter, you will also find detailed information on other ways to spend your free time in Prague, whether you’re an adult or looking for ways to keep your children entertained. You will find plenty of useful links here, including tips for day trips, sporting activities, courses and educational opportunities, as well as ways to get involved in voluntary work. We’ve also included tips for activities you can enjoy in Prague for free. These will allow you not only to explore different parts of Prague but also to meet new people – all without spending a single Czech crown.

Try some of our tips and enjoy your leisure time! As well as relaxing, you can also meet new people and improve your Czech.

Prague City Tourism, also known as the Prague Information Service, is responsible for the development of both domestic and international tourism in the Czech capital.
