MoreBig vaccination centres located outside healthcare facilities are gradually closing in the whole of the Czech Republic. The Metropolitan Vaccination Centre is also winding down its operations and, as planned, from Friday 17th September 2021 it is no longer run by the City of Prague. The vaccination centre continues to operate in a limited regime under Medicon, a.s., a company that has been involved in the operation of the centre since its launch in April 2021.
The vaccination centre is moving to a new space in the building – you can find it by the entrance No. 8. The centre will continue to vaccinate adults and children over the age of 12 as well as unregistered vaccination seekers. Vaccination will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. The expected capacity is about 100 clients a day. This may be increased depending on the situation.
People who have booked their appointments at the Metropolitan Vaccination Centre after 17th September will be contacted by telephone and informed of all alternative options and rebooked. Those interested in getting vaccinated may register at other sites that will continue in operation, such as hospitals, smaller vaccination sites or GP surgeries. It will still be possible to come to vaccination sites without prior registration. A list of currently operating vaccination centres including those that can be visited without registration is available here and here.
