Matertera means “mother’s sister” in Latin, and it is a symbol of a woman who lands a helping hand when mum or other loved ones can’t. She is there for someone who finds themselves in an insecure environment and needs to adapt to new conditions.
The mission of Matertera, a non-profit organisation made up mostly of a community of women with a migrant background, is to help migrant women overcome barriers and support each other in their personal and professional growth.
To celebrate Martetera’s 5th birthday, there will be two meetings (one in the morning and one in the evening) where you can meet many inspiring people and see the results of Martetera’s work. The morning programme will include a debate and presentation of a coaching diary and interactive multifunctional cards that can be used in work with migrant women.
When: 23rd October 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Where: Bistro Fair Food Club, U Nemocnice 497/4, Nové Město
Register here.
In the evening (from 6 to 8 p.m.) there will be a birthday party at the same place. You can look forward to a presentation of the results of Martetera’s work, a lot of inspiring stories, and a small surprise!
