MoreThe Integration Centre Prague brings the best of the successful audiovisual exhibition called Integration of Foreigners through the Eyes of Praguers in a virtual version. The exhibition was created using the PhotoVoice method. In 2018, 20 Prague inhabitants, both Czechs and foreigners, expressed their personal view on the issue of integration in Prague by photos and commentaries to them. Altogether, they made about 150 photos. Some of them were later accompanied by audio interviews in which the participants shared their authentic experience with their integration into Czech society.
Not many people know that every seventh Prague inhabitant is of different than Czech origin. We rarely have an opportunity to take a close look into their stories. That’s why a lot of integration experiences remain locked deep inside. Thanks to the PhotoVoice project, we managed to unlock the imaginary door and thus learn about the joys and troubles that the foreigners experienced while setting down their roots here in their new home. To meet Praguers from Russia, Israel, Poland, Bulgaria, Belarus, Chile, and other countries, have a look here.
The PhotoVoice innovative research method and the Integration of Foreigners through the Eyes of Praguers exhibition, including its virtual version, have been implemented as a part of the INTEGRA international project. More information is available on the website.
The project is financed under the national programme of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the budget of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
