MoreFrom the end of April, it is possible to pay the transit fares by a contactless card payment thanks to new payment terminals in all trams of the Prague Public Transit Company. In most trams, the orange contactless devices are installed at the middle door. There are two terminals in the long tram models. The doors at which it is possible to make the contactless payment of the transit fare are labelled with pictograms.
Buying the ticket is easy: the passenger needs to pick the language and the transit fare, they put the card close to the device and the device prints a validated ticket. In one transaction, you can buy one ticket. The terminals will also allow payments through the Apple Pay and Google Pay apps. The passengers can purchase a single fare in the amount of CZK 24 or CZK 32 or an all-day fare for CZK 110. There are also discounted fares for children and seniors for CZK 12, CZK 16, and CZK 55. After buying a ticket from the terminal, the printed ticket is already validated and therefore there is no need of its additional validation!
