Up-to-date Information as of 24th March 2020 – Further Restrictions

The state of emergency continues to apply in the Czech Republic (declared on 12th March 2020). The government has decided to extend restrictions on free movement and public stays until 6:00 a.m. on 1st April 2020.

People are allowed to enter public spaces in groups of a maximum of two. The only exceptions to the new limitation are people living in the same household, attendees of funeral services, and people congregating for work.

It is necessary to keep a distance of at least two metres between each other if possible!

Shopping hours reserved for seniors 65+ and holders of the ZTP/P cards – severely physically disabled requiring attendance – over 50 and their accompanying persons have been shifted: Now it is 8 to 10 a.m.

People commuting to work in Austria and Germany near the border will automatically have to undergo a 14-day quarantine upon their return to the Czech Republic. In practice, this means that they will have to find temporary accommodation at the location of their employment.  This measure does not apply to people commuting to Slovakia and Poland.
