The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has long been involved in supporting the ethical employment of foreigners in the Czech Republic. It assists both foreign workers and companies that aim to employ them fairly and in accordance with the law. Part of this work includes providing clear information and raising awareness about employees’ rights.
That is why IOM, in cooperation with the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions (ČMKOS) prepared an updated version of the Pocket Guide to Employment Law. The original Czech version was created by ČMKOS; IOM translated, edited, and adapted it to make it as user friendly as possible for employees from different countries.
The guide provides an overview of the most important information, such as:
The latest edition reflects amendments to the Czech Labour Code as of June 2025 and therefore provides information that is fully in line with currently applicable legislation. The guide is available in nine languages, including Czech, English, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Filipino.
The printed version will be distributed to non-governmental non-profit organisations, institutions and relevant authorities throughout the Czech Republic to reach those who may need it most.
