March Art Workshops at GHMP

Photo: GHMP website

In March 2026, the Education Centre of the Prague City Gallery (GHMP) will host a series of ten art workshops for adults, seniors, and families with children. The program combines artistic creation, inspiration from art, and intergenerational encounters.

Participants can take part in workshops inspired by traditional Ukrainian Petrykivka painting, contemporary art, and watercolour painting of natural motifs.

The art workshop is conceived as a creative interaction with the exhibition and its documentary and artistic layers. Through working with boxes and folding paper forms, participants will seek ways to visually express their own attitudes and opinions.

The box is understood here as a temporary exhibition space, personal archive, or symbolic institution. Participants will work with objects, paper, text, drawing, painting, and collage. The workshop will also include working with ink as a means of expression to highlight, conceal, and suppress meaning. Emphasis will be placed on process, experimentation, and working with meaning.

During the art workshop, participants will try out various watercolour techniques, such as wet-on-wet and dry-on-dry painting.

These programs are implemented with the financial support of the UNHCR, the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, and the Prague City Hall.
