On Wednesday 28 October 2026, Czechia will celebrate a national holiday: the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State. To mark the occasion, the historic premises of Prague City Hall and other interesting sites in the centre of Prague will open to the public. A programme of events for both children and adults has also been organised. Admission is free.

The Prague City Hall invites you to discover places connected with the history and day-to-day running of the Czech capital.

Where can you go?

  • The New Town Hall on Mariánské Square – explore the historic building that houses Prague City Hall.
  • The Mayor’s Residence – take a peek inside its Art Deco-style ceremonial rooms.
  • The Škoda Salons in Škoda Palace – discover more interesting spaces within the Prague City Hall.
  • The Central Library on Mariánské Square – enjoy guided tours, including access to areas not normally open to the public, and follow in the footsteps of Prague’s legends.

Advance booking is required for some guided tours and walks. We recommend checking the details and booking requirements for individual activities before your visit.

The full programme and further information are available on the City of Prague’s portal, Praha.eu.
