Temporary protection for people displaced from Ukraine will be extended until 2028. At the same time, since 5th August 2026, a new condition applies to some of the new applicants in Czechia.
The extension process will be similar to previous years, First, you will register online, followed by an in-person visit to the Ministry of the Interior to obtain a new visa sticker. Once both steps have been completed, your temporary protection will be extended until 31st March 2028.
Details of the extension process will be published in due course.
As of 5th August 2026, new conditions apply to applications for temporary protection submitted by people aged 18 to 60 who are subject to compulsory military service in Ukraine. These applicants must be registered in the Reserv+ app and, when submitting their application, must provide evidence that they have fulfilled their military obligations.
The new condition applies to applications submitted from 5th August 2026 for initial or repeated temporary protection, as well as for applicants for temporary protection for the purpose of family reunification.
