MoreA ‘traffic lights system’ has been introduced to divide EU countries into three categories based on the severity of the COVID-19 situation and the restrictions that people who travel from these countries to the Czech Republic have to face. There are no restrictions for Czech citizens and foreigners travelling to the Czech Republic from the countries marked in green. There are also no restrictions for Czechs and foreigners with permanent residence or temporary residence over 90 days in the CR who return from the ‘orange countries’. However, other foreign nationals need to produce a negative COVID-19 test result not older than 4 days or to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. When returning from ‘red countries’, Czechs as well as foreign nationals need to present a negative COVID-19 test result.
These measures have been in effect from 15 June. There are no restrictions on the borders with Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. The epidemiological situation in these countries has been stable on a long-term basis.
The list of countries according to the level of risk is updated in weekly intervals based on the current epidemiological situation. A map as well as detailed information is available on the website of the Ministry of Health.
For more information about the up-to-date situation, follow also the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
