One-Year Czech Language Course for Prospective Secondary School Students Now Open for Applications
META is accepting applications for the 10th edition of their one-year preparatory Czech language course for young people who wish to study at a secondary school in the Czech Republic.
META is once again opening applications for the 10th edition of their unique one-year preparatory Czech language course for young people with a migrant background who wish to continue their education at a secondary school in the Czech Republic. The course will run from October 2026 to June 2027 at the organisation’s premises in Prague 3.
The course aims to equip young people with the Czech language skills and study habits they need to successfully transition to a Czech secondary school. Classes are intensive, taking place every weekday, and prepare participants not only for the secondary school admission exams but also for everyday life in a Czech school.
The course is intended for young people aged 15 to 18 who have little or no knowledge of Czech, have completed primary school, and plan to continue their education at a secondary school in the Czech Republic.
Classes will take place from 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at META’s premises at Žerotínova 1124/35, Prague 3.
Participation in the course is free of charge. Students are only required to pay a refundable deposit and contribute towards the cost of teaching materials.
Due to the consistently high demand for the course, applicants are selected through a three-stage admissions process. The organisation is primarily looking for applicants who have little or no knowledge of Czech, are motivated to study, and intend to apply to a secondary school in the Czech Republic after completing the course.
The selection process consists of:
- a motivational video
- an entrance test
- a trial lesson
Applicants will be informed of the results of the selection process in early September 2026.
