Crisis Situations
This section of the Prague for All website provides a basic overview of how to proceed in crisis and emergency situations in the Czech Republic and where to seek help. It is intended primarily for foreigners who may not be familiar with the Czech assistance system or may not fully understand the Czech language.
The aim of this section is to help you quickly find your way, know where to turn in an acute situation, and locate information that can help you cope with difficult circumstances.
This section is divided into three parts:
This part explains when and how to call the emergency number 112, which in the Czech Republic connects all components of the Integrated Rescue System. You will learn in which situations to use this number and how to proceed when reporting an incident.
In this part, you will find information on how to act in extraordinary situations that may endanger health, safety, or property, such as power outages, hazardous substance leaks, the need for evacuation, or flooding. The specific conditions of Prague are also taken into account, as the city has a crisis management plan in place for such situations.
This part focuses on long-term difficult life situations in which you may need help or support. You will find information on whom to contact in situations such as loss of housing, homelessness, addiction, labour exploitation, domestic violence, debts, enforcement proceedings, or gambling addiction.
